Remember when Fauci said that vaccinated people become a dead end to the virus?! As you say, vaccines have been his life's obsession, hence I think he would or should have known this all along. I think he did know, but wanted to see what happened anyway.
BTW There were whole paragraphs in that paper which could have been written by Geert Vanden Bossche. Surreal.

I don’t know about you, but I attended lectures in Gent 40 years ago explaining the need for local immunity especially in respiratory viruses.
